Desire, Cancun (Part 1)

Shortly after our trip to Munich, Holly and i were watching the TV programme 'Sexcetera' when they did a report on a couples only resort called 'Desire' in Cancun, Mexico (www.desire-resort.com). Safe to say that this piqued our interest no end! Having had time to let our first foray into sharing each other sink in, and the fire it lit in the bedroom since, we were keen to check this place out. Before we knew it we were booked for a 5 night stay, with a further 2 nights in a 'normal' hotel to wind down before heading home. Here's what we experienced...

After a long journey, we were welcomed at reception by a haven of tranquility - ice-cold flannels, flutes of champagne and warm, welcoming staff. Check in was quick, then we were moved to Javier's desk, the concierge on duty. He gave us a brief idea of what to expect at Desire, a map of the resort and who to speak to in different areas if we needed anything. Being led out onto the patio area en route to our room, Holly gripped my hand tight - hell, we were both a little scared! It was mid-afternoon, and there were several naked people around the bar. Not a shock, but still our first experience of such things. A short walk to our room via paths through some beautiful tropical fauna and there we were at the ocean...breathtaking. The doors of our ground floor room opened only several feet from the edge of the narrow beach, the heat and the noise of the ocean was already intoxicating. Hammocks strung between palm trees right along the edge of the beach just added to the sense of arriving in paradise.

Once settled into the beautiful room, we were eager to explore. So, back the way we came to the main patio area behind reception. There were lots of seats, swinging beds (in more ways than one, yes..they were swinging on ropes), a bar, and a cute little padded 'snug' area. Beyond this area, paths through more tropical trees took us to the pool - nice enough, lots of topless and naked people sunbathing and floating around, all very relaxed. Beside the pool was another bar and buffet lunch area. Without speaking, we wandered on, hand in hand, looped back past the main restaurant building (3 in one building) and eventually found the steps leading to somewhere we'd been keen to investigate since Sexcetera - the rooftop jazuzzi deck. Well, i don't think anything could've prepared us for what we found up there, especially after the tranquility of the rest of the resort. The HUGE jacuzzi was filled with at least 20 people, all completely naked, and loud. Man, were they loud, like kids on spring break loud!!

We quickly found 2 stools on the 'dry side' of the bar (other half served the jacuzzi) and took stock of our surroundings. Every woman in the jacuzzi appeared to be 45+, tall and blonde with huge fake breasts. The people in around the jacuzzi took ostentation to a new level, and i gotta tell you, it was damn intimidating having just arrived less than an hour ago. We downed our drinks and retreated back to our room, not really knowing how being ourselves here was going to fit. Taking a hammock each outside our room, it was clear very quickly that Holly was a little upset. The culture shock of seeing so much nudity & frolicking frightened the life out of Holly and brought out her timid side. She wanted to go home, this place was not for her! After chatting in the room, we decided to try and relax and not judge the place too hastily. Ready for another try? Hell yes!
